The Weekender is a chance for the Emmanuel community, from across our four sites, to go away together and enjoy extended quality time with our church family over food, teaching, worship, and lots of fun. It's an opportunity for us to catch up with old friends and make new ones.
We’ll be transforming Ashburnham House into Emmanuel village for the Spring Bank Holiday weekend. You could either camp or have an en suite room depending on your preference.
We're excited to announce that Andrew Wilson will speak at the Weekender. Andrew is the teaching pastor at King’s Church London and the author of several books, including Remaking the World, Incomparable, and God of All Things.

How do I get there?
The address is: Ashburnham Place, Battle, East Sussex, TN33 9NF

Arrival on-site on Friday will be from 12pm.

You are welcome to arrive anytime from 4pm. Please make your way to Reception where you will be greeted by one of the Emmanuel Team. Rooms will not be available until 4pm. All linen is provided. Dinner on the first evening will be served from 17:30 - 19:30. Unfortunately Ashburnham is not able to keep food aside for latecomers due to food hygiene restrictions.
Delegates - Camping - Tents
You are welcome to arrive anytime from 12 noon. On arrival, you will be met by one of your church site team who will direct you to your camping area.
Delegates - Caravans/Camper Vans
You are welcome to arrive anytime from 12 noon. On arrival, you will be directed to the caravan area that has been designated.
Facilities
Toilets, showers, washing up points and on-site trailer fridges will be available onsite. We hope this will help to keep everything (& you!) fresh and cool.
We will indicate which fridge is allocated for your site. Please ensure that you have marked your items clearly with your name and church site. Emmanuel will not be held responsible for any missing items.
Disabled parking spaces, and accessible toilets/showers are available and your site team will direct you on arrival.
So you can start planning what you need to take here’s a helpful list.
Cars will need to be parked in the designated areas once you have unloaded and are not to remain in the camping zone. On arrival you will be given a parking permit to display in your car but you will be asked to move your vehicle for safety reasons if it is still in the camping area at the end of the day.
Mobile phones - signal coverage around Ashburnham is very poor so please download everything beforehand as we cannot guarantee ‘hot spots’.
We are looking forward to great times of worship and bible teaching in our 5 sessions across the 3 days, including interviews, preaching from Andrew Wilson, lake swimming sessions, a Ceilidh, and various sports.
Under 2’s
There will be a Parent and Toddler room available during the weekend, please note that this is not supervised.
Kids Work - Morning sessions only
3 - 5-year-olds and school years 1 -6, with lots of fun and activities for your children to enjoy.
Youth 11-14’s / 15-18’s
The youth will be in all the main sessions in the marquee and will have specific social times throughout the day, including a silent disco and fire pit.
Come and serve!
One of the ways we can serve one another across the weekend is by joining one of our Stewarding or Kids crews. If you are able to do this for one session and haven’t already advised us, please contact Christian Finer.
